Hey All,

So my Vortech MP40 just crapped out (red/green stall of death apparently from what I'm reading) and with the Christmas break/weekend upon us, Vortech's customer service is out until Monday =(

My question for you advanced reefers is, do I have time before the lack of flow starts affecting SPS/LPS and nutrient build-up with just the sump and chiller out-takes going? The water is very still, just a little movement from some LPS. Or on Saturday, should I get a cheap in tank pump to stir things up before I can get a replacement or customer service works their magic?

Any input would be appreciated for a concerned reefer.

I would just get any pump as a backup. Any old pumps laying around? If not, it's always good to have a spare pump regardless. I usually have multiple spare pumps, either maxijet, koralia, or jabao

Great support everyone. Really appreciate it. I've got a medium sized powerhead flowing now giving ok one directional flow. Raised the temp a degree and half but i should be ok until Wednesday. New Gyre ships, unless UPS screws up royally. But thank you reef fam, really.
