Are sw nerite snails the same as the ones in my African cichlid tank

Been using nerite snails in my ac tanks, are these the same as sw nerite snails, can I use them from a sw tank into the ac tank

No way man, the salinity between a freshwater, rift lake and the ocean is very different.
I would imagine moving it would be like putting salt on a garden slug, or putting a gold fish in sea water. Shells may look alike, but they could be completely different family or genera, I'm not an expert on snails, but if you want to try one and see...

anyway just did a quick search and they are different generas

fresh water species: ie Neritina natalensis
saltwater species: ie Nerita tessellata
