good catch. This is terrible considering how important ALK is. Any idea how bad the readings were?

Thanks I've been getting bad readings on my phosphorus ULR checker and have been dealing with the company, they are sending me new regents this week for free to replace mine

I emailed them 2 days later I got new reagents from them for calicium and phosphorus

First test 59 so I retest and 22 then another test 12 so I really am kinda done with Hanna except alk

I have lost faith in Hanna. I started double testing with Salifert Alk just for this reason. I had wrong reading a couple of times and was blaming my doser. Some reagents are very close to Salifert. Than I would get a big jump of difference between the two. I'll still use the egg but not reliable.

I just got a new bottle lot 5441, tested 3 times with consistent levels of 129,129,129

Tested new Hanna calcium 444 tested salifert 410 not terrible. But the alk is always on point

Hanna Alk test are not always on point. They having trouble with a few bad Alk Reagents. Only good if solvents are good.

This has happened to me a couple times now with hanna.

I thought my ALK was way off because I switched KAlk brands, knowing this is illogical, I double checked with Red Sea.

Personally, I'm kinda done with them.

considering a Salifert or Red Sea ALK titration test is so easy and quick I cant see why anyone would fumble with these eggs. I have the po4 Egg and I always question the results. Its very difficult to maintain identical testing methodology. It seems like no matter how hard one tries to be consistent you can never quite get the same amount of reagent into the vial. I go to extremes of cutting the bottom of the packet at an angle so that I can pour the powder right from the packet into the vial. I also cut the top and another side of the packet to maximize how much powder I get out. In addition I set a timer so I know exactly how much time I have to get the sample back into the egg. Its quite annoying to miss the 3 minute timeframe the egg stays zeroed out for while also mixing the reagent completely. For the price I guess we get what we pay for...

I don't care if a test takes 2 minutes or 20 minutes, I just want consistency
