Should this be sucked out during water change? It's a green slime on top of sand bed but been like this for a while.. Starting to get a bloom of hair algae and have to clean glass every other day when I use to do it once a week.. Checked all water perameters and everything in perfect shape.. I'm thinking it's cause I changed my bulbs and it's getting to much light but not 100% sure..

Vacuum as much as you can whenever you do a WC and keep up with the good husbandry. Is that area a dead spot?

Just the top, but don't add new sand. Is that a dead spot? If it is, try increasing flow a little bit and just be consistent with your reef keeping ways...

I deff don't have any dead spots in my tank lol at least I don't think I do I have a 75 with mp10wes and a gyre 150

Actually I haven't seen my sand sifting star lol could be him.. I just don't want to go poking around like I did when I first started feeding n destroy my tank again lol

So I vacuumed that whole spot out wind up being black and stunk really bad prob something died and decayed under there plus still can't find the star..
