My Melanarus Wrasse has been acting weird lately.
I saw it laying on the sand the other day and I thought he was dead but when I went in he swam off, that was 4 days ago, I thought he died somewhere and couldn't see him. Today he is back out again but laying on the ground again. I see no markings on him and all the other fish are acting fine and look fine as well.

Just from my experiences with active wrasses ...it lying on it side after it's been fully acclimated and in the system for a period of time is not a good thing. Is it getting harassed? Even though there are no external signs it's probably something internally such as worms, infection, bacterial etc.... If it's still eating that's a good sign and try to give it vitamin enriched foods. I've been using using Vita-chem for years and recommend it. Selcon is also good or even a combination of both.

6 Inch purple tang, 4.5 inch yellow tang, 4.5 inch Majestic Angel, 5 inch blue face angel
i have 2 other wrasse in the tank, both are tiny compared to him, he is the biggest. (about 5+ inches)
Small 6 line and a small yellow wrasse. (both about 1 inch)...
Can only assume my baby hippo is bothering him although i have not witnessed it.
I havent seen it eating but it is fat. I actually got all 3 wrasse by recommendation by Pop Corals... I told them i had a bristle worm outbreak and he claimed they would clean it up... Wrong.. they did nothing at all. I have seen the menalarus taste one and spit it right out... He eats pellets, nori sheet, frozen live food, everything i throw in.

Keep an eye out for the six line, it doesn't matter how small he is compared to the other fish once they get comfortable they are not scared of anything. My six line is a little dwarf fellow who never really grew and is well behaved for the most part but when he has an off day the little ******* will pick on any other fish in the tank no matter how big they are. If it wasn't for the tank boss (our powder blue tang) that little guy would run rampid causing havoc all day long.
