I woke up this morning to find that my starfish, which I have had for around 2 years, with one of it's arms cut in half. The only thing in my tank that could have possibly done it was my peppermint shrimp or my emerald crab. The only other inhabitants are seahorses and I know they didn't do it. I have had the shrimp for about 6 months and the crab even longer. Do u think it is more likely the peppermint or crab that attacked my healthy starfish? I want to remove the guilty party! How long will it take for my starfishes arm to regrow?

Out of the 2 would suspect the crab, but would also suspect the starfish isn't doing well and lost the arm on it's own. Make sure there's enough for all of them to eat. If it is the emerald, once it starts to get a taste for critters like that, it will likely stop eating bubble algae and anything else you want it to eat, and keep eating what you don't want it to.
