Just a thought:

Would be so cool to have a contest of a tank up and running based on anecdotal evidence only ( blackworms, nano bubbles, miracle mud, etc ) vs a tank set up "very properly" based on solid evidence for whatever methods are used for that tank. Which tank would REALLY thrive long term?

Sort of like Grandma's old world recipes for good health vs pharma. Who stays in better health longer?

Have to put my money on Grandma! Just so she doesn't shoot me.....a disqualification of sorts!

Not sure I see a point?
IMOP there are way too manny who consider themselves experts in this hobby.
Way too manny variables.
What would be considered long term?
What is considered successful and to who?

One thing I am sure of is that there are many ways to run a tank, and for most that consider themselves success don't care much to prove others to be wrong.

There is just no need there enjoying there tanks to much to be bothered or at least they should be. lol

Well.....there is no great point other than maybe a discussion on what is the point! LOL.

This is what MR gets when they say I haven't posted in a while!

Obviously not meant to be a serious thread...just for fun, maybe some interesting thoughts, discussion or not. Who knows? No biggie I hope and thanks for responding!

Ok, 1 year ( not based on anything other than it sounds good ) and not sure who or what is considered successful. Basically just about everyone is more successful than me in this hobby so far! Put some names in in a hat and hope for the best!

'There is always a little part of me that roots for the quick, simple, on the surface "common sense" idea even if based on nothing more than a shoestring.......

As is relates to the hard working people who do the real scientific research I cannot help but feel sometimes the scientific community in our hobby focus on researching stuff that is not broadly beneficial to the hobby often or fast enough. Now these thoughts of mine are based on absolutely nothing. But would be cool to know how research is done for the hobby and who decides what gets researched. Guessing it all comes down to dollars from big business who in the end like everything else could not care less what is good for the hobby. Ok, strapping on the seatbelt:)
