Lighting for cheato

Just curious in knowing what kind of lighting everyone is running in their fuge(LEDs/CFL/flood) and how many hours a day

Anyone notice better chaeto growth with specific kelvin

Not with cheato but yes, have done some experimenting, with grape caulerpa.
-Regular screw in Edison bulbs- Have tried warm and cool white cfl and led, both spot and flood. Also tried par 38 led plant led with 6700k. Out of these screw ins the led par 38 did best.

-Blue with red led grow lights- Tried a few different types. Some with 1watt and some with 3 watt bulbs. Ranging in size and lens angle. These produces the most algae and are now on my algae scrubber.

-Led 6700k tank light- These by far did the best. Cheap, 1 watt bulbs and grow caulerpra like crazy. Dark green, thick, completely full side to side, and from the top to the bottom. Also tried their quad 3watt model. Which has more bulbs and each bulb higher wattage, and can't say the growth was all that much better.

Will also add that everyone is growing cheato these days. Good idea to try a few dif types macro and see which on e does best in your system.

I'm using a ecoxtic E-series led at night for 6 hrs

Oh, run my fuge at night for 14 hours.

kessil purple 12 hours. I dump a 5 gal bucket of chaeto every month

I run a 9 watt 425 nm blue led screw bulb for 12 hours during the day. The chaeto certain does grow faster.
