I should have expected this would happen. Every time i buy technology, the next generation comes out the following spring/summer. Happened with 2 of my computers which i purchased before the transition from P4 to dual core, and core 2 duo to I7 processors.

But the product looks pretty sweet. I dont like the idea of not having the display come standard, but the added wifi was a much needed upgrade.

Also it explains the random $100 off apex gold they rand for a few weeks. Seems the gold will be replaced by this new system, and they will continue to sell the classic apex at least for the time being.

Do you currently have the classic edition of the Apex?

If so im wondering what made you jump on this so quickly. To me it doesnt seem like there are too many upgraded features except for the included wifi, but im pretty certain everyone with an apex has one of those wifi adapters.

Or is there another difference in this model that im missing.

Yes I have the "classic" one. Never hooked it up
I like the newer version look. Not sure of anything new it does except built in wi fi

They should offer an upgrade from the current apex to the newer apex for a reasonable price lol. Smh. We as reefers spend so much money on the current version with all the attachments and now the newer version starts out at $799.99. SHEESH!!!!!

Looks like they built the eb8 into the main body added a wifi adapter
I agree it does look like this will replace the gold because this looks fully loaded

No. The old eb8 will work with the new one but not vice versa.

I was on the livestream. I would love to get my hands on one of these, but didn't see anything new that would make me want to upgrade. I have 2 of the Gold systems with additional modules like Salinity, Wxm, Ald, etc...and Network is hardwired.

I think newer buyers will benefit the most, especially since you can now connect the Wav and Dos directly to the new powerbar.
But I wonder if this means they will reduce the price of the Wav (sell package without the 1Link module).
