In wall tank, flush with wall or recessed?

I am thinking about creating a in wall tank in my basement. My question is what do you think looks better, flush with the wall or recessed in about 4 inches.

I am thinking about doing a simple 55 gallon tank 48x12.

Set up the stand and tank then slide the tank in and out and see how you like it best recessed or flush

I put my 220 flush with the wall but used a 3.5 inch trim around it. It looks like a big picture.

Seen his tank and it looked great. Wasn't 100% done with trim work when I saw but looked great

flush with molding around it makes it look like a live picture. Recessed makes it look like a tank in the next room with a cut out in the wall.

Recessed you get better light in to tank

This is the finished product. I went flush and have full coverage of light.
