T5 light

hi guys, Happy New Year. I'm new to MR. Is anybody know about this light? I'm trying to put this light into my 72 bow canopy because most of the lights at least 14" on the width.

Many people recommend that a T5 fixture have highly-polished individual parabolic reflectors to maximize efficiency.

Sorry can't help u on this, but this seem to be a good price for 8 t-5 bulb light. Now you got me considerating on buying this too. Does anyone here using this light or know anything about this brand? Thanks.

like deanos said, many use T5, but suggest that each bulb have its own reflector or its kind of a waste

I'll give you more insight...that guy on epay is the same as:
pet supply liquidator...the same people who call themselves:
Catalina Aquarium......also:Aquauniverse...They might go by a few others.
Their bulbs burn out rather quick (mine did in 2 months).
Their reflectors are just polished aluminum. They are cheap-but they work.
These do not catch on fire but... you gets what you pays for!

thanks guys. the reason i pick this light because i need something to fit my 12" canopy and i don't see any in the market except this. also i need at least 6 bulbs.

man 12'' is the one with 4 bulbs. i think reflectors are 2.5'' wide each. ill check for you later today

always wondered myself, if you get a fixture with a single reflector, can you add your own reflectors to it?

They also make them for 24W and 39W bulbs.

12"? Why not just get spider relflectors on a mogul socket, Icecap MH250 Ballast a 14k bulb like the Phoenix and call it a day. It will fit nicely and you dont need to supplement it.

the thing with the icecap is not only in the reflectors. icecap 660 ballast over run the bulbs and makes it more stronger . you cant make it with workhourse or other t5 ballasts.

you don't need that many bulbs for 12"...I use 4 bulbs on 18" and grow acros at the bottom ( 24 inches down)

with good reflectors, you would not be able to fit more than 4 bulbs across 12" without light spilling out the front and back and would just be a waste
