Chemi clean will take care of the cyano but it's not a fix all. I've used it with success but the cyano eventually made its way back. I could never truly figure out the root of the problem. I tired it all short light periods, less feedings, bacteria dosing etc. I ended up just dosing it once a month when I would see the cyano starting to come back but then had to break down 1 yr later cause of dinos they suck lmao. GL with it hope it helps you out.

How long did it take to see any difference with the Chemi Clean? Also how long did your skimmer go nuts till it settled down? I dosed it at 6am this morning and it hasn't stopped overflowing yet, I was smart enough to clean the skimmer before treatment so it's just regular tank water flowing back into the tank. Directions say to keep it running to raise O2 levels during treatment.

Ive been battling cayno for two months now. I had a leak and had to switch tanks. I used some of the sand from that tank. I think that's what caused it for me. ive tried everything, lights out, lots of water changes, more flow, etc. I even did the chemi clean twice, and it didn't work for me. what seems to be working for me now is, vacuuming the cayno out everyday, and changing my gfo more often. good luck.

Thank you. I've had it in other tanks but never this bad. I don't even have a big bio load, 2 clowns and a baby yellow tang. Part of the problem I think is I was relying on just my return pump for flow, adding a Jebao pp4 wave maker tomorrow to stir things up.

The skimmer won't settle until you do the WC. Then maybe a day or so after. It will take a 2 days to see a visible difference on the 3rd day it's basically all gone. What I do is take skimmer cup off and just let it over flowing back into the sump .
