cheato dying

had cheato n refuge bought this light from amazon
GLW Led Grow Light 20 Watt, Waterproof Flood Lights Fixture for Plant Hydroponic Garden Greenhouse Red Blue 20 Leds
it has done nothing but grow hair algae n my refuge can anyone recommend a good light one that's not gonna distribute heat 2 my tank thnks
I also c some film on top of the water n da sump is that normal

I use a 54 watt par38 bulb(blue and white)I run my fuge light for 8 hrs opposite lighting from my display .I also dose my tank with seachem flourish nitrogen which is meant for planted fresh water tanks but grows my chaeto like crazy...keep in mind that it will raise your nitrates

Not the same coloration in leds as what I am currently using but I know a few people using the same bulb with great results.

I use a similar bulb as reefer4eva, but mine is 27 watt, and only red and blue LED.

It grows chaeto at an unbelievable rate. I went with the 27 watt version because my refugium section is only 4"?11", but even with such a small area, I pull out a half bucket of the greenest chaeto every month!

Might be a dumb question but what is your Nitrate reading level?
The reason I asked is cause I was having the same problem when my Nitrate was reading 0, I've never bought fancy bulbsfor my refugium just used a bulb no less than 5000k and cheato grows very well.

I had zero nitrates for the longest time and read up about dosing Seachem flourish nitrogen to bring up my nitrates so it does both add nitrates and supplements the nutrients needed to grow macro algae

I'm currently using Spectracide Stump Remover, 2 teaspoons in 16oz RODI water....,5ml brings NO3 close to 2.5ppm and my total water system is 80 gals....so far so good.

I use 2.700 K florescent light bulb 23 W from HD before, now 4 T5 2.700 K HO, grow like crazy, last time i remove 1/2 of 40 Gal. bag. run 15 hrs. per day.
