Purple Tang Scar

Hey guys,

From the moment I had this purple tang, it had this scar. It's been about 5 or 6 months since I've had this fish and the scar hasn't grown or healed. It doesn't seem to be an issue to the fish. He eats and behaves perfectly fine. What do you guys think this is? How can I heal this scar?

if its been like that probably not, he looks beautiful and healthy..

could have been the start of HLLE during the fish's early life before it met you. Like duro said, it looks very healthy. One of the nicest specimens ive seen at that size being that im a fan of the horizontal bars which tend to fade.

get it eating lots of nori, that will take time to heal. Looks like HLLE. My Ctenochaetus striatus has markings like this for the past 7yrs.
