Xr15w pro gen 3

Need some help I have a Xr15w pro gen3 running over a 20x16x12 tank @ 9" above the water line. I have been running the coral labs ab setting @ 45%. i wanted to see the par i was getting so I borrowed a par meter from a friend and was surprised to see at the bottom which is about 11" under water line I didn't even have 100 par dead center under the light. There are no obstructions in the way as it just a frag tank. Does this sound right? Everything I've read makes me believe I shouldn't be over 45 - 50% any help would be appreciated

45% is pretty low i would slowly raise it up. I have 2 gen3 pros and 1 gen 4 prob over a 47" tank running at around 75%

Im thinking i need to be around 75%.
