weekend sump nightmare

What a nightmare!

sump #1 : didn't support the glass while drilling :Yikes:

sump #2 : while cleaning out on my balcony in below freezing temperatures.

sump# 3 : temporary... just to get my tank started

sump# 4 : Finally! After searching MR, RC, and CL for hours

HINT -

Set the drill press guide stop at about 1/16th before you exit the glass and dremel the rest with a diamond bit. Worked for 18 tanks for me after I cracked 3 of them. Oh, and don't rush it

look at the bright side ,there was no water in the tank when it broke

But now youre off to great start

after all that you eneded up w/ a great sump. i have the same one(smaller) under my 40br.

first one is tempered glass. no way you could have drilled it. see how it ended up in all those little pieces?

Now you don't have to worry about cracking the sump when you move the skimmer around.

Been there, done that (a few times)
