hey guys,
i need help from you pros on what to do. to start off with i have a 48"x18" 90 gl. divider with the overflow box in the middle on one side from AGA, that i bought last year. I currently use 3 maxi jets on each corner for circulation and the return in the fourth corner. not crazy about how they work so i want to upgrade to Tunze since most everyone speak highly of them. I primarily will have LPS and some SPS. which models should i get?
thanks in advance,
Guy.

like a back and forth motion?
would one not do that?

well it does some what w/ the pulse function as the first pulse has bounced the glass and comes back the second pulse kicks in giving you somewhat of a back and forth motion.

But it doesn't compare to the effect you can create w/ two.

would 2 6000's be too much flow if im mostly LPS and a shallow sandbed? and where would you recommend placement? (my overflow box is in the middle of the side wall and my aquascape runs in the middle of the tank, so i have livestock on both sides).

One will be fine for lps and if you decide you need more flow you can just buy another and a multi controller later.

I wouldn't go all out with two streams and a multi controller for lps

I would do a wavebox + your return pump for a mostly LPS reef. Ronen (deepwater) has one of the best LPS tanks I have seen and he has hardly any flow. I think a very gentle flow + good water quality is key in getting your LPS to really extend.

The wavebox is my choice. I love that thing. There's no other more natural wave simulator outthere! You really have to see it to appreciate it. I'm with what Rich suggested!

yea i saw it in action and i thought it was really nice. just wasnt sure if it was good for my size tank and plus i got a little worried about wear on the tank and stand that it causes.
