Light Height..

How high off the water do u guys keep yer lights..? i recently built a canopy which puts my halides bout 15" off the water... you guys think thats too high..? or good...?

i think personally it is not needed to put lights more then 8" depending on depth of your tank and the amount of watts ur putting out..... on my 120 gallon i put my lights 8" from the surface of the water... it was the same on my 75 gallon...
