mag1800 max flow: 1800gph; max head: 21ft; Power Consumption: 145W @115V 1.5Amps

Yea thi is wat I want to use it for.... When I change x% of water per week in my tanks... I assume once the hose has water in it the pump will pump out the water, if DRY i might have to siphon some in there but that is kinda do right now lol with a smaller pump

Couldn't you just use a hose to siphion out the water? If the tank is higher than where you want the water dumped, you don't need a pump.

How big is your tank? That's a helluva lotta pump just for water changes. If you're doing 100 gallon water changes, maybe you'd want a Mag 18 or Gen X.

If you're only doing 10-20 gallon changes, a mag 2, 3 or 5 would do just fine.

I have a 75g, 29g, 30g, 55g currently running.. but i have another 55g, 30g and 2x20g's not running, but will be so... yea i need a big pump to speed it up... i use a python directly to the bathroom to full them up so, the fittings on the python should work on a 1" (ithink) nozel (probably 3/4" i gotta check it)...

when my flowerhorn first had babies (1batch only over 150fry) i still have like 30x 3-4" and they require frequent water changes... i may have another batch soon from another pair i have...

I use a 2" hose to drain my tank.. takse me less than 30 seconds to fill a two 5 gallon buckets. fast than a mag pump does.
then i just use a mag 7 with hose to fill my sump back.. works great..
