I don't get it, they basically doubled down on the dollar per gallon about a year or so back when they added the 75 to the dollar per gallon then earlier this year they backed out on it and also took the 40b out.

Plus now only 3 days? Used to last like a month.

I'm surprised that the only made it 3 days but for eliminating the other tanks it could be that their cost is too much on those tanks for it to be worth while to include them into the sale, after all these are lost leading type items. It could also be that people who brought the bigger tanks didn't buy other things, as opposed to people who brought the smaller tanks. I think most of the people that brought the larger tanks were people that were in the hobby for a while and just took advantage of the deal.

I remember petland use to sell 10 gallon tanks for $10
They are making money don?t know how much but its not a complete loss anything the customer buys is extra for them
Wish a vendor would weigh in on how much they really can sell them for

Petco circular Oct 1 -Nov 18,2017. So dollar sales are for 10gal - 20L 20H 29gal. 40 Gal is $49.99
55 gal is 64.99
75 gal 89.99. Which are 50% off. Sale is good too Nov18, 2017. 3 days sale is aquatics sale which is separate from circular sale.

Hey dunno if this applies to NY, But the Nj petco's 1$ per gal sale is for the whole month, and they are still sellin 40b,55, & 75 for 1/2 price making the 75g around $90 , i think the weekend sale is regarding marine livestock, inverts and LR. if your looking for 75g i advise checking in/ calling your call local petco cuz 75's go quick( the larger petco's are likely to have more 75s if any). And if your interested in livestock talk to the aquatic specialist regarding preordering fish/inverts/macro algae/LR for the weekend sale.

Its most likely that manufactures or inflation has put a dent on cost prices, with the whole aqueon/marineland contracts petco had. I remember like a year ago they put in a bunch of marineland 40's for the dollar per gallon sales. We might not see anything over 30g's for $1 per gallon anymore.

ok, so here is my experience with these sales.

Few years back i walked into Petco looking for a half a dozen 40G breeders. They had a few Perfectos/marineland tanks with silicon jobs looking like a 3-year old did it.....ton of air bubbles in the seams; I walk away empty handed.

Here is what I did next. I drove to Petland and asked if they would match the sale and the store manager said "of course". So I ordered 6 and he only had 2 or 3 on hand so after I inspected seams (Aquaon, all looked perfect) I left with whatever he had and was told to come back next week for the rest, which I did, I ended up getting 7 in all.

So not only did I get better tanks, they were cheaper at Petland too.

Petco charges taxes on pre-discounted full price, Petland charges taxes on the actual sale price. I have had couple of arguments over this at Petco when buying large quantities of doog food "on sale" but could never understand how different stores could interpret tax laws so differently.
