I ordered 30 lbs of the stuff, and I'm not a huge fan. Besides the weight difference, does anyone else recommend this type of rock over Fiji or pukani? Don't think I'll be ordering anymore, but if anyone has experience using it for a few islands and a lagoon layout, post pics or ways to build up this craggy rock to look natural.

How do they look? Could you post some pictures? I don't know anyone who have their rocks.

Fiji on left, Reef Saver on right.

IMO, the Reef Saver just looks artificial. Too many pockets. I see the detritus build-up already.

Yes agreed i can see the detritus building up in the rock too
I would up the flow
Personally i would cut my losses and get new rock ro is something that is a big part of the reef (try and sell it)
Call brs tell them you are not happy and would like to get new rock see if they can do something for you

Done and Done. Thanks for the input. Disappointed, but agreed rock is a major piece of this puzzle. Need it to help my filtration, not hinder it with hidey holes and traps.

Thanks for the picture. That's not too bad. I have a few pieces of those. After some coralline algae, they blend in quite well with the rest of the rocks.

If you worry about detritus build-up, get some pods from me. You'll never have to worry about detritus.

if BRS won't help out, I may break up myself and go to town with cement. My fuge is a pod factory, but I'll for sure keep you in mind down the road!

Once the rocks get incrusted overgrown with invertebrates, it won't matter what shape, texture or density it has. you just have to get creative with the lay out. Once you break it down, you won't be able to build it up again.

For filtration it does matter

And i think you meant encrusted with coralline algea and covered in coral and that does take a lot of time
