I don't believe that theory that clams have to be fed. I have 4 clams and have never target fed them or put anything in aquarium for them to consume. My smallest clam was 3/4 inches and is now 2 inches. So save your money and just give your clams some TLC and they will grow to be happy and healthy clams.

I am looking into getting a clam. Never have kept one before. Just seeking some advice on how to keep one. Keep on sand bed? Lighting? Flow? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also would be safe with wrasses?

Depends on clam. Any wrasse that is reef safe is good. I have 4 clams with 3 types of wrasse derasa and squamosa are fine in the sand they need good lighting but not super
maxima need higher lighting and have to be placed on rock work. I have high flow but not directly on them

I have a 60 cube, 24 inch depth and running a radio g3 pro over it. So I'm sure lighting would be fine. I don't have high slow but medium flow. I think I would be fine with one of those clams. Can the others be placed on rocks too or keep them on sandbed?

Keep in made under the right conditions derasa and squamosa get big fast. Maxima has the best colors. The first two are sand bed clams. People have keep maxima on sand. But I wouldn't

Your clam is probably eating stuff and you don't even realize it. Bave cleaner shrimp? Or any unknown spawn events or even particles from when you feed your fish.
