Prefilter for overflow?

Should I keep it on or get rid of it. Noise is not a problem. My refugium has 3 chambers one of LR next of LR and chaeto and then the return. I plan on adding some inverts to both so I dont want to starve them.

are u referring to the screen in an external overflow or the sponge around the intake?

the screen should be left and the sponge should be ditched. If the sponge collects too much detritus you risk overflowing out of the overflow and onto the floor.
