Help id my problem

For the past 2 years my clowns have been hosting this tyree leather. For the past 2 months the leather has been developing these white spots.

as you can see one of the white spots has turned into this ugly gaping hole. What could this be?

Hi,
i had the same thing going on with my toad stool leather, i thought he was getting eaten up by something,but i read that sometimes these leathers do this to reproduce, in my case my research was correct, it split and now i have to nice ones... Keep an eye on yours make sure theres no fleshy discharge out of the hole and watch its health.. Otherwise you should be okay. Good luck..hopefully it will be okay.
