Hey Everyone,

I'm very new to saltwater, and I need some help from all you experienced people out there. Today I found these white stringy things on my glass. I actually saw some residue there for a couple of days but I thought it was just some sediment that I kicked up when I moved my sand around to even it out, but now what I thought was sediment has grown to long stringy web type material. I also saw this white thing near it. I thought maybe it was a copepod since I added some cheato a week ago, but now I see it hanging around that white stuff, and am worried it might be Vermetid Snails that I read about. It was on the glass, when to get my phone and take pictures and it was gone, found it again crawling on the sand. I don't know if you can tell anything from my pictures, but if you can, I'd really appreciate some help, and am hoping that its not those snails I read about.

Thanks!

Did u start up with live rock..? If so your gonna find a lot of things in your tank that were living in the rock. Might just take them some time to come out.

As for the thing on the glass..probably need a better pic. Kinda looks like scratches.

Nstephenson: thanks for that link, it certainly does have a lot of information in there.

Dakotakid: No live rock, It was all dried out Pukani Rock. I read that the benefits of live rock weren't worth the risk because of the chance of getting pests, plus I couldn't afford to spent $200 on live rock when I got this stuff for $60 with free delivery.
