Not a chance.....if they really care about you they would respect your passion for the hobby as I do for hers. My wife can care less about my reef and hates the mess I sometimes make with water, equipment etc....but she bought me my 90 as a wedding present and 29 years later I still have both.....

The reef discussion was had before I proposed to my wife ha ha One of my tricks getting her involved with the fun aspects of the tank when possible and keeping the purchase amounts to myself as much as possible. Otherwise, when you're at the mall and $200 - $300 for shopping seem like alot when you just bought an Achilles for $350 without thinking twice can make things a little tricky hahaha

I agree.. My wife has been great about my tanks. It's even better now that my daughter LOVES the fish - it's so neat to see her react to them.

If your wife has been with you forever, she knows you have your hobbies and she has hers. Unless its a huge problem, i wouldnt even think about getting rid of it. She can deal.

If she divorces you over your tank, do you really want to be with her?

Reef tanks do take a lot of space, time and time for maintenance. It does take time away but have her do things or do it when she is asleep or busy.

I only touch my tank EARLY like 7-9am or after 9pm or after the kids shower.
I also try not to touch my phone or computer between that time.

Always exceptions to the rule. Especially when she is attached to her phone or out the house then i do whatever i want. Just gotta setthe time for everything.

I think the main reason women aren?t into this hobby as much as men are is because they tend to be more practical than men. I think many hobbies, such as collecting toys and exotic cars, appeal to the inner child in all of us. I guess women are built differently.

Hell no would my g/f control if I had a tank or not. My girlfriend loves the tanks and etc but hates the matienance. I told her if we get married and buy a house a room will be dedicated for a "fish room" and she's all on board. I'm lucky I guess haha
