Jon, I had to modify my hood to fit the minis. A guy with your wood working skills will have an easier time than I did. BTW, I don't use the cooling kit. My chiller only comes on at the end of the day during the hot months, which I can avoid by putting ice in my sump at the end of the photo period. If I run my AC at all during the day, I can avoid the chiller as well.

Has anybody done any testing on the lumeneric's, or no where I can find some hard data, on how well they really work.

Check out Sanjay's site. He tested the large ones, but not the mini's or DE reflectors. In a nutshell they were clearly the best.

If I am not mistaken, they were called diamond light back then.

Look under the articles section and yes they were called Diamond Light back then. Seems he did the mini's too in a later article.

I don't think they mean the bottom edge of the reflector has to be at that height, just the lamp itself. If that was the case then we would all have some tall ass canopys. I'm just guessing here though. __________________

no... the bottom of the luminarc should be 12 inches above the water line.
