I personally use salifert. But many people use hanna checkers, red sea, and nyos that I know of.

same. I've tried many. calcium I used Red Sea. Mag Red Sea. Alk I use Hanna checkers. Phos Hanna Checkers. Nitrates Nyos. Salifert for backups on certain ones. All determined via experience, ease of use and "accuracy." I pray for the day they make accurate "checkers" for each and every parameter...

How is the NYOS nitrate kit? I need to get a different kit i cant see the different with the salifert. As for alk calcium and mag both salifert and redsea work well. Also Hanna for phos.

Nyos just needs to better package the powder and liquid(drips too easily after turning over) but otherwise I really like the contrast. Easy to tell each successive measurement. I may start trying some of their other kits too just bc I like the nitrate one as I do.

Calcium, Mag. = salifert
Alk. = Hanna
NO3 -Red sea.
PO4 (PPB) Hanna
Potassium = salifert.

I like those.
