Surge protector on a Apex?

Does anyone have their Apex on a surge protector? I get a lot of brown outs and power surges up on these mountains and was thinking of putting my apex on a surge. Also my return pump. Is there any issue using one on the Apex?

I install Apex on a daily basis. I always recommend a battery backup UPS attached to apex. most people don't know that a $10 power cord will let the apex brain know there a power failure and know how to distribute the power. Main pump on everything else off or everything off wave pumps on.

one of my favorite apex features. just make sure the UPS is rated for the load.
