Tunicates ????

I bought a red shroom rock I like the shrooms on the rock was a lump of somthing looked like a wad of gum I put the rock in the tank an about 15 after I place it in the tank the wad of gum came alive 2 holes opened and it look likes it is breathing, as far a s i can tell it is a Tunicates what i wanted know dose this thin have a top or bottom? because the way i have the rock fits in great, and what dose this thing like to eat!!! I have the tank going for 2 years and have many filters feeder in the tank doing great, shoud this lump of gum be just fine and do they change colors because it just looks like chewed gum...

sounds like tunictes, sponges usually have several openings. your tank is pretty mature, the tunicates are filter feeders so they will basically filter what's in the water column.

they may or may not survive. good luck w/ them
