This is a war I will win, but wish I wasn't in.:sigh:

Here are a couple of pic after about 100 pounds of rock and corals have been taken out.

To all who are not familiar with the AEFW's you better start reading and don't take them lightly!!!!!

I have always been careful about dipping ALL that came to my tank, but I trusted a coral(not from anyone on this board) about 3 months ago and that was all it took.

Well the good thing is I know where they came from, and what I have to do to KILL THEM ALL!!!

Plus I get to start a tank from frags again which is kind of cool.

Oh and did I say I learned another lesson the hard way.

The right side is done, now for the middle and left break down.
Then the real works begins.

I want to say a special thanks to Jonathan and Herman for all their advise on this topic, and what a pain in the ass I'm about to become.

I will be using pro cure once all my frag encrust and are mobile.
Then I will starve them.

Thanks Mike

The tank was 1 year and 11 months all from small frags out of my last tank of 6 or 7 years.
It was getting overgrown anyway, and I do have two of everything fraged, just like Noah.LOL

I will have a chance to space them correctly, hey the glass is half full:tongue1:

I be back in the game in a couple of months, and be better at the hobby for it.

Only two corals had any signs, one frag where I got them from! and a colony.
I know they are there though, but it's really is not so bad, I have plenty of time, and yes I will win the battle.

It will take a week or two to break down, and take them to a babysitter.( QT tank)

Yes it was a bummer for about a week and then, I figured I could make the best of it and now I looking forward to some new rock work.

Don't feel sorry for me, learn form my mistakes!
I do appreciate the concern and the kind words though.
Thanks!!

You're still the man Kedd! I look forward to giving you frags and watching them grow bigger than my colony in 6 months :D Seriously, AEFW suck. I had some corals eaten by them, but in the end my repeated dips (in all kinds of stuff) is what killed most of my corals.

Anyway, I can't wait to see the newborn reef!

Best of luck in your fight.

Glad to hear that you had two frags of everything. I have only heard great things about your tank and the corals that you keep. It seems that everytime I ask someone about a great looking colony they have, it is always traceable back to you.

Kedd,If you make the dip a light tea color that seems to be the right strength.

Pedro, almost everything that had worms (last year) in my tank is dead. The few that made it have been dipped many times periodically in pro cure with no AEFW's found. I wouldn't stress it but for future practice you should get into the habbit of dipping everything anyway.
FYI, I would rather take corals from someone who knew they had AEFW's and treated for it rather than someone who says "I don't have them" Pretty much every SPS dominant reef has them. It's just that not all hobbiests have learned to identify them. You would be suprised how many awesome reefs have them.

Rich I could not have said it better.

Live and learn.

Just so people don't freak out, and Herman correct me if I'm wrong.

Herman was the last person to get frags from me( a bunch) and he dipped them all as he should have.
He said there was nothing on the at that time, about one month or so ago.

The coral that did have them I have never fragged.

I can only hope I didn't pass them on to anyone, but if I did I never knew.
