dialing up the g3

just got in my g3 today and i know it takes awhile for the skimmer to break in but its taking in alot of water in the collection cup.i started with the drain as high as it would go and started bring it down little by little and it still taking in water.anybody?

Just bring the drain down till half you see bubbles about half way up in the cyldner of the cup..
It should be fine then.

the whole cylinder is completely full with bubbles.so ill give another shot in a few

bring down more till its half way full.. then give it a few hours see if you get any skimmate and if not dail it up a little more.. and see what happens.

it's just breaking in dave. just let it run w/o the collection cup for a while.

you suppose to run with the drain down then slowly up. not the other way around.

dee during break in time do u should have the pipe all the way down :scratch:.... also did u run the skimmer in reg. freshwater to get rid of any oils and stuff from the manufacturer before u put it in ur tank.... thats what i did... and i would also recc. u to purchase the gate valve kit it will make ur adjusting alot easier...

i didnt run in freshwater though i did rinse it out.the damn paper said start with drain up.:banghead: dirty manufactorer bastards.gonna bring it down now.thanks guys.:biggrin:
