what happen? why couldn't I buy the Tunze 6060 and magnet 6080.50

I posted a few things for sale on here and two things sent me over the edge.

1. You could post a BRAND NEW IN BOX $3,000.00 Dialyseas machine on MR and ask for only 3 yellow polyps in exchange and you will get flooded with PMs stating "Would you take 1 yellow polyp?"

1A. That pisses me off when I'm the seller but rocks when I'm a buyer. When you see something here or on RC or wherever, even if you're 50th in line, as Herman said "cash in hand". I PM the seller: "Yo I will pay pal you your asking price right now and e-mail you an overnight slip" that bumps me from number 30 in line to "Sold to fritz"

2. People calling dibs and going awol. I almost took a hammer to my RR 58 today but a guy showed up from Philly to pick it up. PHILLY! I had 4 people from Brooklyn flake out on me but this dude drove from Philly on a Saturday morning.

The moral is, don't be a dead beat dibber, cause I'll never sell you anything and money talks, dibs is for suckers.

To others;
I'm REALLY trying to keep my cool, I CANNOT believe all the BS this has caused. This is MY item I'm selling. I live on the notion, first come, first served. Weather it's posting on a thread, PMing, emailing or sending up a smoke signal. I'm not a con artist, I'm not trying to pull a fast one on anyone and NEVER have.
Nobody responded to my ad the first day. The next day I lowered the price $10.00. Twelve minutes later "Herman" PMed me would take it, IF I was going to be in Manhattan, which I was.

Here is a timeline(I can't believe I'm doing this);

2/22/07 11:20pm I posted the items for sale

2/23/07 12:25pm I posted that I lowered my price

2/23/07 12:37pm "Herman" PM's me with the message above.

2/23/07 3:05pm "Wolverine" posted that he sent me a PM
(He quickly said no thanks, Tunze was not
controllable)

2/23/07 7:31pm "janey" posted that she would take it if "Wolverine"
backed out.

2/23/07 8:49pm I posted (To janey) that "Wolverine" was no longer
interested, BUT "Herman" was the first to contact
me and I was waiting for an answer from him
(Logistics). And that if "Herman" did not work out
that janey was next in line.



All of the above timelines can be verified by looking at my for sale post. However, I will return shortly to copy and paste "Hermans" PM to me, so that everyone will see there was no conspiracy over this crap.

Is it that hard to post a message saying,"PM sent"? For some it is, I guess. There is no admission of buying anything with the former statement. That simple statement saves a lot of aggravation and drama.

The For Sale forum, to me, is a catch 22. Yes there are great deals to be had but at the same time it's the worst forum on the board. No other place has so much pugnacious episodes. It's not only on this board; it's widespread across all message boards. In the past months I have seen buyers buy things only to post them on other sites for more money, vendors buying things for their "personal" tanks, demands of unjust refunds and other countless instances of rude behavior.

The best maxim to follow is,"You win some. You lose some." If you made out on great deal, even if through back-door tactics, great. If you got beat, suck it up. This is a hobby not a soap opera.

Not that it even matters at this point, but that is more of a suggestion, than a rule. And it would be better to place that suggestion in the For sale/Trade forum under
"You Must Read This To Sell or Trade Here ", rather than the GD forum.

So, now I'm a "bad reefer", send me to the gallows, off with my head, have me drawn and quartered!! And, don't buy anything from me again!!

It's the opposite in fact. People are just discussing buying and selling on the site due to the discrepancy that took place.

There was no confusion. NRA223 clearly outlined who was in what place in line and why.

Some sellers state in their thread, "No PMs" while others put "PM/email only". Ultimately, the decision lies with the seller.

Whenever I've sold items here, I've found PMers to be more serious about purchasing an item than someone "dibbing" on the thread.

i got a little upset when within 1 min i called for something on buys and the seller was going to sell to someone else.that someone else backed out because i got a little annoyed.that was truly a nice gesture on his part.i didnt buy the item cause the seller got a little nasty.i can understand the frustation.but u know what i decided that these same items usually pop up again from another seller so im not going to get pissed anymore ill just wait.i think most of us on here has been in same shoes.come on guys this is supposed to be fun lets all get along and all have fun together.we are all in same hobby and some of us have other things in common so lets all try to be friends and stop all this petty bull shhh.just my opinion so lets stop the bickering
