Any Mg flake sighting in local home depot?

You were looking for dow's flakes or Mg (Magnesium) flakes? I use the dow pellets b/c that's all I could find. It is available at a local supply store.

I managed to find Dowflake at the homedepot in Wallingford, but I've been unable to locate any store that sells Magflake.

You can easily order what you need to make the additatives online. Of course you are going to get killed on the shipping. Last place I looked it was $30 to ship a 50lb bag, but even with shipping it is still cost effective. Especially when you consider that a gallon of ESV magnesium costs $20. I tried to figure out how long a 50lb bag would last me, and I can't count that high.

Someone mentioned that Acehardware periodically stocks Magflake. That's next on my list of hardware stores to try.

Magflake isn't especially popular as a deicer - it tends to clog in equipment. We've carried Dow and Mag for years...

HD across the road from petswarehouse on LI had two skid of it the last time I was there. You should have posted before the icestorm, I used one bag to melt the ice in my driveway and only have one bag left until next winter.
