i use seperate phosban reactors for both since they both require different flows through the chamber.... some members do use both in one reactor... bags are not used inside the reactors....

one of the other members here will be happy to tell ya which one goes 1st when your using 1 reactor...

Scoots is growing up :D :D :D Separate them completely if you can. that is the most effective way.

Carbon and any GFO (Phosban, Rowaphos etc) all have different flow recommendtions. By coupling them together one will be efficiently used while the other will not be. If you can separate them do it....

I'm running both in the same till i get off my lazy arse and make my own. i'm running Phos underneath with carbon ontop. Had it set up carbon then phos before and the phos sometimes floated through the top and into my sump as they only give you 2 foam spacers. :smash: Phos gets dirty quicker having it underneath and i'm sure that blocks the phos from actually absorbing the phos.

Dunno if that helped. Better to run 2 separate reactors IMO. Having both in one is lessening the effect of one or the other as both have different flow reccomendations.

For awhile I ran Chemi-pure in my phos-ban reactor and tossed a bag of phos-ban in in the sump (now I have the 2 reactors piggy backed -- Both woorked fine for me) But every tank will react differant
