live bait Question??

does / did anyone feed live killies to there tank.? I was thinking, I have a minnow net and when the weather get's a little hotter I am going to the pier / beach and try and get some live bait for the tank [ spearing / killies...ect ] shouldn't be a problem right? I have read not to feed goldfish / guppie's to a SW tank.

I know people down in FL go to the ocean or gulf and gets ghost shrimp and things like that to feed their fish. The only problem with doing it here is that the water isn't as good, Clean, and you could be feeding you fish some bad stuff.
