I set up my unit with all new filters and installed a pressure gauge and new dual tds. there was something wrong with the tds meter, it was missing one of the four sections of the numbers on the lcd display. i could still make out the numbers, but i unplugged the tds meter and got up to show a friend of mine. no more than two seconds after i got up the DI chamber blew up, luckily it was under the kitchen sink and no one was too close. the pressure gauge was reading 38psi. the chamber had no cracks or fractures prior to exploding and was 1/4" acrylic.

anyone have any idea what may have caused this??

i would've been in the right place, few of my friends (paramedics) were in the room and i was across the street from the harlem hospital ER (able to handle trauma). but walking away without a scratch does beat being at the right place with the right people with a piece of acrylic stuck somewhere on me.

38 psi is pretty low for an RO/DI right??

Did it come assembled or did you have to put it together from scratch? If you assembled it, where did you attach the flow restrictor for the RO membrane cartridge? Or, if it came assembled, can you take a look and see where they put the flow restrictor?
