E ballasts.

Hey everyone,

I was wondering how many people have e-ballasts. Anyone have the 400 Watt ones? How do you like them. I have the approval to get them and I want to know if they live up to the hype.

davemerr, I have 2 175W and 2 400W E-Ballasts. With 2 more on the way! (Xmas) I love them. What specifically were you wanting to know? I use 10000K Blueline bulbs with them.

I currently have 3 400w over my 180. My wife complains about the the hum and the heat that the ballasts generate. So for Christmas she said i could get her 3 e-ballasts (I LOVE my wife )

Since it is her x-mas present

I wanted to make sure i am not throwing money out the window.

Did you replace a ballast or did your come with your lights? If you replaced them is there anything special I should know about?

Dave, The 175's I got with the hood. The 400's I got just the ballasts, for pendants. They come with the wiring you need, and a diagram. Pretty simple. I have not noticed any "hum" or noise from them. They get very warm to the touch, but not scalding hot.

I have the Bluelines (400 watt) and I think they are great. They light every time and the bulbs burn very bright. They only get warm to the touch. Very easy to set up.

"E-ballast"? Is that the manufacturer?

E-ballast is a misnomer in my experience because
both the magnetic-core and the newer high-
power integrated circuits are "electronic".

If my second paragraph was already understood
before my post, could someone explain what they
know about these new e-ballasts?

EW, according to championlighting.com is made by BlueLine, they run cooler, use less energy, eliminate fliker.....check it out.

I have 3 x 400W Blueline e-ballsts runnig 20KK Radiums, and absolutely love them.
