Feeding an Anemone

I have recently bought a Sabae anemone (H. Malu) and wanted advice on feeding. Mainly what do you feed, how often and when is the best time of day to feed?

I feed my with Formula I, Angel Formula, or chopped shrimp. Most of the time I feed it the chopped shrimp (bought from grocery store). I feed mine whenever I feed the fish. When I first bought it, I feed it once a day and two months later it's more than double it size, so I cut back to 2 times a week. This is only my experience, other might have better advice for you.

I usually feed my anemone's whole Krill, Prawn, Silversides, or sometimes chopped Squid or clam meat. I get a couple of pouches of frozen foods like that from the LFS once every 6 months or so, and feed a portion of it to them about once a week. I'm an early riser for work, so on the weekends, am usually up well before the tank lights come on (and everyone's feeding polyps and tentacles are still out), so I usually do it on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Rarely more than once a week, but I have been known to spoil them in the springtime (that's when they usually split).

Make sure you are providing it with enough light. If its algae dies, it won't matter what you feed!
