I will be traveling to Boston in Oct. for a conference and would like to see what the East Coast has to offer. Any good stores near the Back Bay area? Thanks for any info.
Not Really!! That is what Boston Really Needs
is a nice reef store. There are a couple in RI and NH that are relativly close and have good selections. I Do a lot of things over the web.
Just to add my stuff to the list. I have only recently become interested in Reefs, I just moved and sold off all my Cichlids and am now going to try something new.
Uncle Ned's Fish Factory, Millis MA - Mostly Cichlids I never really looked at thier SW stuff. But they were nice cichlids and easy to deal with I got about $200 in Store Credit when I last moved and sold all my cichlids back to them. Very nice since I bought them for about $30 dollars and they bred.
Pet Club, Dedham MA - Thier livestock seems hit or miss but I have never found a cheaper or wider selection of new tanks.
Well...it's a bit hard for me to be objective on this since I sell to many of the shops in the area, but you guys did leave Sea World in Salem, NH off the list, and this is a place worth visiting as well. For the best advice, equipment, and tank raised livestock (mine!!) Inland Reef Aquaria cannot be beat (again difficult for me to be objective).
An outstanding shop south of Boston, about 40 mins. Fintastic Fish on Rte 106 in Plainville,Ma. clean fish and corals, immaculate store. (508) 699-0722 limited hours.
