Has anyone had long-term experience with this fish in their reef? Not the orange spot, this one is from the Caribbean, it is lime green with blue-green eyes, about 2.5" long. Had an outbreak of aptasia; and within 48 hours of adding the file, the aptasia was completely eliminated without a trace. Now I am afraid of him going after corals. He consumes all prepared foods readily, but hangs out dangerously close to some soft corals (sinularia sp.) He seems to camouflage himself to the corals, when he's next to the green sinularia he's deep green, when he's near the xenia, he's more beige, he also hangs out in the caulerpa. I haven't seen him nipping at any coral, but after the way he chowed down the aptasia, I am not sure if I should remove him from the tank at this point before he develops a taste for something else. I am wondering if any one else has used this fish for eliminating aptasia, and if you were able to keep him with corals with any negative outcome once the aptasia were gone.

Thanks

I had one in my reef which I just moved to another tank. The only problem I had with him was that he nipped at my clam mantles...never saw him go after coral.

Hey, anyone has the scientific name of the file fish you are talking about? That could really help the poor souls like me with tankfull of aiptasia.

TIA
