Went to kroger to find this stuff, and had no luck. Looked in the produce section, oriental food section. Where to get the stuff? Tell me exactly were to get it please. Also, how do you feed it, and does it have phosphates in it? Thank you

Hi Smokin, Where I live there is a lot of Asian markets or grocery stores. They have many different types of nori. I have tried a few different kinds. My fish seem to like them all. Or if you go to Alfalfa's or Wild Oats. Both are health grocery stores. They both carry it, but charge more for the nori. HTH Jerry

Every Chinese, Korean or Japanese grocer will carry it as will larger grocers that have an oriental section.
It is green algae in sheets about 20cm by 20 cm packaged with at dissicant which removes any moisture. So, you can keep it a long time. Costco sells it as well. Take care so that you buy an unflavoured variety.

Smokin,

I get all mine from Brine Shrimp Direct - of all the different kinds of Nori, I like their's the best. It seems very fresh some times, has no preservatives, flavorings, etc. to worry about, and IME, very, very reasonable. Shipping on it's cheap because you can use ground. Give them a whirl if you can wait until Wednesday, I've been very happy with everything I've ordered from them.

To feed, start with a small piece, let's say2" by 2".Fold that piece like a ciggarette.Attach nori to lettuce clip or small piece of rock with a rubberband. If not eaten in 24 hrs remove or you have the chance of getting some serious diatom blooms! Not sure of phosphate content.

At the local publix (grocery store) they have a sushi section in the seafood department. They carry all the stuff to make your own sushi at fairly reasonable prices, they call the nori "Sushi Seaweed" I just take a few strips of it and put it in a chees cloth bag (created with the aid of a rubber band) and hang it in the tank for a day. Angels and Tangs locve the stuff.
