Hi, Jen. We experienced a Bryopsis outbreak in our project tank after replacing MH lamps. For about six months we had to literally peel the crap out of the tank. It likes to grow between rocks and behind things making it a PITA to remove. It started to diminish by itself after increasing skimming and bumping dKH over 12 consistently. We tried lettuce Nudis, a variety of surgeon fishes...nothing worked but manual removal, improved skimming, and higher dKH. We can't see any in the tank now but we watch carefully still. HTH.

The Elysia diomedea Nudibranch, eats Bryopsis. You can find it on the Collectors Corner of FFE, as the "Partially Photosynthetic Algae Eating Nudibranch"

Help!

My tank is being overtaken by bryopsis. Is there something that will eat it? This stuff must be the aquatic equivalent of kudzu!

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Jen
