Any ideas where people can find a cheap (but good!) overflow on the net? I have the mechanical talent of a monkey on anti-depressants so I am hesitant to try a DIY, for fear of attaching my hands to my forehead... Thanks!

In my opinion the cheap overflow is the one that does not flood your floor causing untold damage.

Everyone recommended LifeReef.

I could have gotten something less expensive short term, but I bought a LifeReef double overflow.

I won't risk my hardwood floors on a crappy overflow.

There are many things you can skimp on. For me, an overflow was one I wasn't willing to.

A piece of glass glued into the corner to form a triangle and a hole drilled inside that enclosure is the most reliable overflow.

If you're really not skilled at this sort of thing then I'm sure your LFS could do both for you.

Not only is this ultra reliable, it's almost free to get it done too.

I had a 40g breeder drilled for a 1" bulkhead locally for $10, and then ordered a corner overflow from Precision Marine. They charged me around $50 including shipping. I would recommend them to anyone interested in a custom made overflow.
