I just got a very small mushroom. What do I need to do to keep them alive and well? Food? Additives?

Also, How or will they multiply?

Thanks
Harry

There are size differences between species, but usually have to get much larger to split or to propagate (Oh, let's say about at least a quarter dollar size).

Harry,
Tell us what you've got - set up, water params, where you've placed it...ect.
Discosoma are easy to keep under moderate lighting and with good water quality. If you feed them small pieces of meaty foods, they'll "envelope" as they consume the food.

they multiply basically by just spliting in half although it is possible to propagate them.

basically I dont really feed my shrooms they just live by light and whatever happens to fall on them that my fish miss.

as long as your water quality is good and calcium and alkalinity levels are good they will grow.
