I just got a Pinpoint PH monitor, and at first I put it on the back of the tank wall, but the level never went to a constant. I moved it to a chamer in my CPR Skimmer where the biobale should be. I was wondering if this will throw off the reading.
If the chamber follows the skimmer then your reading could be affected. Depends on whether or not the c02 in the tank is at equilibrium. The monitor is affected by electrical currents, more specifically the magnetic field arould the current. Keep it a couple of feet away from any strong circuits like your lights and pumps. Otherwise you won't get a steady reading. It will keep flickering.
Looks Like it is my power compacts. D$%n!!! I guess I will have to wait til I get my sump in my new 125, then I won't have this problem. What is the ideal PH you should measure?

The IDEAL ph will depend on the age of your tank and what you are keeping in it. Generally anything between 8.0 and 8.4, without wild swings, is good.
