Tang in Detention

I tore apart my FOWLR tank tonight to get my yellow tang out (It was not a pretty sight) He was harassing the new angel I added yesterday. He's now in the 20g sump. So how long should I detain him for..a few days, week?

Nope it doesn't have to be that long. It can be a matter of an hour or two. Just move some of the rock around and reintroduce the Tang.
Now sometimes this will not work, though most times it will. If not remove the Tang again for a day or two and try again.
BTW what size tank is your main tank ?

A short while in the 20g sump is not going to hurt the tang, but may achieve the desired attitude adjustment.

Thanks for the tip. I think I will leave him in there overnight and reintroduce tomorrow morning. He's separate from the return pump so he can't get hurt. I did rearrange all the live rock when I put it back together.

The main tank is a 75g. And before anyone busts a gut here - the tang is about 3" and the angel is about 2". I have a downpayment on a 125g tank that will be delivered at the end of the month when I get my quarterly bonus.
