Vinegar & Kalwaser

I've been using kalkwaser for years and recently saw a post about first mixing the calcium hydroxide powder with a little vinegar. I mixed a solution this weekend and noticed the powder disolved much better.
What is the concensus on this technique? What are the benefits and shortcomings. How much vinegar should be mixed w/ the powder?
