I am looking add a nice centerpiece fish for a 50 gal reef, 48"x14"x18", 50 lbs LR, 3.5" southdown sand, leathers, LPS, polyps, mushrooms, 2 perculas, 3 barnacle blennies, 3 green chromis, bubbletip anemone, maxima clams, bakpak skimmer. What would be a good fish to add? I was thinking flame angel??
Thanks

I would go with a brightly colored fairy wrass, active and colorful. Angel is hit or miss, you may regret it if it decided to pick on your clam and coral.

I have a Purple Tang that is beautiful, swims constantly, and loves people (anything that might feed the pig!). They are a great centerpiece to a tank. I just transferred mine from a 55 to a 225gal. He was just fine in the 55.

I would also agree with the fairy wrasse idea. Another beautiful fish is the Midas Blenny. I've heard some call them Peach Blenny's (sorry I do not have the scientific name handy). They are a fantastic color and, IMO, one of the most beautiful swimmers!
Good luck,

What kind of fish do you like? It sounds like you have a lot of swimming room, so you can host something that likes to swim versus ducking in and out, but you are also limited by size restrictions. If you want a fish that will truly be a "centerpiece" and will always be out swimming around, angels are a pretty good way of going, however, like hippo said, it's hit or miss, and you might regret any angel you put in there. You could also try a tang of some sort, it will probably stay out all the time, but be careful of what kind you get (same considerations). Other than that, I can't really think of anything that would be a centerpiece. You may want to just go to your LFS and look and see which fish swim around a lot, and then find out which are reef safe, and go from there.
