I have some very old peices of live rock. They look green....will they ever grow coraline? I think it happened with years of terrible lighting...or should I throw it all out and start all over? Just recently went from pc lighting to Mh.......

As long as the rock has not been completely dried out, it should be OK as live rock. However, it may not grow coralline because there may not be any coralline left. If you buy a couple of pieces of new LR with coralline on it to "seed" the tank, it should start spreading around on the old LR. HTH

No need to kill all the life on the rock. That will actually slow things down. First, direct a powerhead directly at the rock. The stronger the better. Next take a toothbrush and scrup at the coralline you have on the other rock. If you have any coralline on the glass scrape that off too.
Make sure calcium and ALK levels are adequate and you should have coralline growth within a couple of weeks.

Do you have coralline growing on the powerheads or on the glass? If you don't it won't grow more on the rock either. Probably need to supplement calcium if thats the case.

Halides do the glimmer thingy only if the surface of the water has ripples on it- direct a powerhead upa bit for more ripples...
